1 형제들아 내가 신령한 자들을 대함과 같이 너희에게 말할 수 없어서 육신에 속한 자 곧 그리스도 안에서 어린 아이들을 대함과 같이 하노라 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.

 

2 내가 너희를 젖으로 먹이고 밥으로 아니하였노니 이는 너희가 감당하지 못하였음이거니와 지금도 못하리라 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

 

3 너희는 아직도 육신에 속한 자로다 너희 가운데 시기와 분쟁이 있으니 어찌 육신에 속하여 사람을 따라 행함이 아니리요 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

 

4 어떤 이는 말하되 나는 바울에게라 하고 다른 이는 나는 아볼로에게라 하니 너희가 육의 사람이 아니리요 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?

 

5 그런즉 아볼로는 무엇이며 바울은 무엇이냐 그들은 주께서 각각 주신 대로 너희로 하여금 믿게 한 사역자들이니라 6 나는 심었고 아볼로는 물을 주었으되 오직 하나님께서 자라나게 하셨나니 7 그런즉 심는 이나 물 주는 이는 아무 것도 아니로되 오직 자라게 하시는 이는 하나님뿐이니라

 

8 심는 이와 물 주는 이는 한가지이나 각각 자기가 일한 대로 자기의 상을 받으리라 9 우리는 하나님의 동역자들이요 너희는 하나님의 밭이요 하나님의 집이니라

 

1. 고린도교회를 책망하는 바울(고전 3:1)

 

바울은 고린도전서 3장에서 고린도교회를 책망합니다. 그리스도 안에 있는 성도임에도 불구하고 세상적인 모습을 보이고 있기 때문입니다. 바울은 고린도교회의 성도를 어린 아기에 비유했습니다. 성령을 따라 사는 하나님의 사람으로 보기에는 아직 성숙하지 못한 면이 있었기 때문입니다. 3장 1절을 함께 읽겠습니다.

 

In 1 Corinthians chapter 3, Apostle Paul rebukes the Corinthian church members. Because they are like worldly people, in spite of being saints in Christ. For Paul the Corinthian church members were like babies. It is certain they believed in God. However they are not yet mature as people of God, who live according to the Holy Spirit. Let's read chapter 3 verse 1.

 

1 형제들아 내가 신령한 자들을 대함과 같이 너희에게 말할 수 없어서 육신에 속한 자 곧 그리스도 안에서 어린 아이들을 대함과 같이 하노라 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.

 

바울은 1절에서 두 가지 종류의 사람을 말합니다. 첫째, 신령한 사람입니다. 성령을 따라 사는 사람을 말합니다. 둘째, 육신에 속한 사람입니다. 세상의 가치관과 세상의 욕심에 끌려 사는 사람을 말합니다.

 

In verse 1, Paul says two kinds of people. First, a spiritual person. A person who lives according to the Holy Spirit. Second, a person who belongs to the flesh. A person who lives by worldly the values of the world and the greed of the world.

 

형제자매 여러분, 예수 그리스도의 은혜로 구원 받은 자로서, 성령을 따라 사는 하나님의 자녀가 되기를 바랍니다. 세상 욕심을 따라가는 사람은 여전히 세상에 속한 사람입니다. 여러분은 세상적인 욕망을 내려놓고 하나님의 뜻을 이루어드리는 하나님의 자녀가 되시기 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, you are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. Let us live according to the Holy Spirit. Do not follow the greed of the world. Be a child of God, who sets aside worldly desires. And be a mature Christian who realizes God's will.

 

 

2. 시기와 분쟁을 버리라(고전 3:3-4)

 

바울은 고린도교회 안에 분열이 있다는 사실을 지적합니다. 분열이 있다는 것은 고린도교회의 성도가 성령을 따르지 않는다는 것의 증거가 됩니다. 진정으로 그리스도 안에 있고, 성령을 따른다면, 교회에 분열이 있을 수 없기 때문입니다. 3절을 같이 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul knows the fact that there is division in the Corinthian church. The divisions among church members is evidence that they do not follow the Holy Spirit. Because if you are truly in Christ and follow the Holy Spirit, there can be no division in the church. Let's read verse 3 together.

 

3 너희는 아직도 육신에 속한 자로다 너희 가운데 시기와 분쟁이 있으니 어찌 육신에 속하여 사람을 따라 행함이 아니리요 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

 

목회자들이 교회에서 제일 주의해야할 것은 교회의 분열입니다. 성령은 교회를 하나 되게 하지만, 사단은 하나님의 교회를 분열시킵니다. 교회 안에 자주 분열이 일어나는 것은 교회 안에 사단이 역사하기 때문입니다. 교회가 부흥하려고 할 때에, 사단은 할 수 있는 대로 교회를 분열시키려고 합니다. 그래야 교회가 부흥하지 못하기 때문입니다.

 

The first thing pastors should pay attention to in the church is the division of the church. The Holy Spirit unites the church. But Satan divides the church of God. Pastors see frequent divisions occur in the church. That is Satan's work in the church. Specially when the church revival comes, Satan tries to divide the church as much as he can. When a church is divided, there is no revival in the church.

 

기도하면서 분별하여 사단이 교회를 분열시키지 않게 하시기 바랍니다. 분열하게 하는 사단의 영을 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 몰아내기 바랍니다.

 

Pray that Satan does not divide the church. May the spirit of Satan that divides the Church be cast out in the name of Jesus Christ.

 

사단은 교우들에게 사람을 따라가게 합니다. 사람을 중심으로 그룹을 만들게 합니다. 그리고 이런 것들이 후에 교회를 분열하게 하는 요인이 됩니다. 고린도 교회는 바울을 따르는 파와 아볼로를 따르는 파로 나누어져 있었습니다. 4절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Satan causes the members to follow people, not to follow Jesus. And it lead the church divided. The Corinthian church was divided into those who follow Paul and those who followed Apollo. Let's read verse 4.

 

4 어떤 이는 말하되 나는 바울에게라 하고 다른 이는 나는 아볼로에게라 하니 너희가 육의 사람이 아니리요 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?

 

형제자매 여러분, 교회를 분열시키는 사단을 따라가지 맙시다. 오직 주 예수 그리스도만을 교회의 머리가 되게 하기 바랍니다. 사람을 추종하지 말고, 예수님만 사랑하고 예수님만 존중히 여기는 성령이 충만한 교회가 되기를 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, let us not follow Satan in dividing the Church. May the Lord Jesus Christ alone be the head of the Church. Don't follow any person. Be a church that loves only Jesus and follows only Jesus Christ.

 

Lord, unite the Burundian Church. May the Korean church be united for God's mission. May Holy Grace Church be united for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
