본문 : 고린도전서 3:16-23

찬송가 : 288장 예수를 나의 구주 삼고

 

16 너희는 너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 계시는 것을 알지 못하느냐 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

 

17 누구든지 하나님의 성전을 더럽히면 하나님이 그 사람을 멸하시리라 하나님의 성전은 거룩하니 너희도 그러하니라 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

 

21 그런즉 누구든지 사람을 자랑하지 말라 만물이 다 너희 것임이라So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours,

 

22 바울이나 아볼로나 게바나 세계나 생명이나 사망이나 지금 것이나 장래 것이나 다 너희의 것이요 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,

 

23 너희는 그리스도의 것이요 그리스도는 하나님의 것이니라 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

 

 

1. 사람을 추종하는 교인들(고전 3:3-4)

 

바울은 고린도교회의 분열에 대해 매우 실망했습니다. 성령은 교회를 하나 되게 하십니다. 만일 교회에 분열이 있다면 그것은 성령의 역사가 아니라 악한 영의 역사입니다. 그래서 바울은 고린도교회에게 편지를 쓰면서 그들이 아직도 세상에 속해 있다고 판정한 것입니다. 3장 3절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul was very disappointed with the division of the Corinthian church. The Holy Spirit unites the church. If there is a division in the church, it is not the work of the Holy Spirit, but the work of the evil spirit. So Paul wrote a letter to the Corinthian church, saying, 'You are still worldly.' Let’s read chapter 3 verse 3.

 

(고전 3:3) 너희는 아직도 육신에 속한 자로다 너희 가운데 시기와 분쟁이 있으니 어찌 육신에 속하여 사람을 따라 행함이 아니리요

(1 Corinthians 3:3) You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

 

더욱 실망스러운 것은 교우들이 지도자들을 추종하면서 분열이 일어났다는 점입니다. 바울 파가 생기고 아볼로 파가 생기면서 파벌 사이에 분쟁이 생겼습니다. 3장 4절을 읽겠습니다.

 

What disappointed Paul even more was that the members followed each of their own leaders. And this has led to divisions in the church. With the formation of the Pauline faction and the Apollo faction, disputes arose between the factions. Let's read 3:4.

 

(고전 3:4) 어떤 이는 말하되 나는 바울에게라 하고 다른 이는 나는 아볼로에게라 하니 너희가 육의 사람이 아니리요

(1 Corinthians 3:4) For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?

 

성도 여러분, 성령의 사람은 예수님을 바라봅니다. 그러나 성령으로 충만하지 않으면 자신이 좋아하는 사람을 따라갑니다. 성령으로 충만하여서 사람을 보고 좋아하거나 미워하지 말고, 예수님만을 바라보며 만족하는 여러분이 되기를 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and Sisters, the Holy Spirit looks to Jesus. But if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, you will either hate a person or follow a person. May you be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you do not like or hate people, but that you are satisfied by looking only at Jesus.

 

 

2. 성도의 정체성: 하나님의 성전(고전 3:16)

왜 고린도교회 교인들은 주님을 바라보기 보다는 사람을 바라보게 되었을까요? 바울은 교인들이 자신들의 정체성을 정확하게 깨닫지 못하고 있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 자신들의 정체성을 알면 그렇게 사람을 추종할 필요가 없기 때문입니다.

 

Why did the Corinthians look to man rather than to the Lord? Paul learned that the members did not understand their identity accurately. Because if you know your identity, you don't have to follow people like that.

 

바울은 고린도교회 교인들에게 그들의 정체성을 분명하게 가르치십니다. 그들은 어떤 사람에게 부속되지 않았습니다. 교회의 성도는 각 각 그리스도에게 속하여 있으면서, 그리스도의 몸 된 교회를 구성하고 있습니다. 이러한 의미에서 성도가 바로 성전입니다. 그래서 바울은 고린도교회 교인들에게 그들 자신들이 하나님의 성전이라고 선포했습니다. 3장 16절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul clearly teaches the Corinthians their identity. They did not belong to any man. The members of the church belong to Christ. All members become the body of Christ equally. In this sense, the believers in the Church are the temples. So Paul declared to the Corinthians that they were the temple of God. Let’s read 3:16.

 

(고전 3:16) 너희는 너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 계시는 것을 알지 못하느냐

(1 Corinthians 3:16) Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

 

요한복음 3장 16절은 예수님을 믿어야 영생을 얻는다고 가르칩니다. 신약성경에서 아주 중요한 본문입니다. 함께 암송해 봅시다.

 

John 3:16 teaches that faith in Jesus leads to eternal life. It is a very important text in the New Testament. Let's recite it together.

 

(요 3:16) 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

 

고린도전서 3장 16절은 믿는 자들의 정체성을 가르칩니다. 신약성경에서 이것도 아주 중요한 본문입니다. 암송하기 바랍니다.

 

1 Corinthians 3:16 teaches the identity of believers. In the New Testament, this is also a very important text. Please recite it.

 

(고전 3:16) 너희는 너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 계시는 것을 알지 못하느냐

(1 Corinthians 3:16) Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

 

형제자매 여러분, 여러분 각자가 하나님의 성전에 지체임을 믿으시기 바랍니다. 여러분 자신이 하나님의 성전임을 믿으시기 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, believe that you are a member of the temple of God. You are the temple of God.

 

바울이 성도를 하나님의 성전이라고 한 것은 교인들로 하여금 교만하라고 하신 말씀이 아닙니다. 이것은 그들의 정확한 정체성을 선언한 것입니다. 모든 교인은 그리스도 안에서 동일한 위치에 있습니다. 모든 교인은 그리스도의 몸의 지체입니다. 모든 교인은 그리스도를 통해 하나님의 성전에 속한 자들입니다.

 

When Paul called the church members the temple of God, he was not telling the members to be proud. This is a declaration of their exact identity. All members are in the same position in Christ. Every member is a member of the body Christ. All members belong to the temple of God through Christ.

 

성도는 누구나 동일한 위치에 있습니다. 교회 안에서 결코 누가 누구를 추종하는 관계가 되어서는 안 된다고 바울은 지적하고 있습니다. 오직 예수님만이 교회의 머리이시며, 존경 받아야할 스승이 되십니다.

 

Every saint is in the same position. Paul points out that in the church it should never be a relationship in which someone follows whom. Only Jesus is the head of the church and the teacher to be respected.

 

 

3. 성도와 하나님의 관계(고전 3:23-4)

 

바울은 고린도교회 신자들에게 사람을 자랑하지 말라고 명합니다. 하나님은 모든 것을 신자들을 위해서 준비하셨습니다. 심지어 바울와 아볼로와 게바도 하나님께서 신자들을 위해서 준비해 놓으신 것입니다. 신자들은 성전의 지체로서 서로 도움을 주고받으라고 주신 것이지, 누구를 지배하거나 추종하라고 주신 것이 아닙니다. 21-22절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul commands the Corinthian believers not to boast of men. God has prepared everything for believers. Even Paul, Apollo, and Geba were prepared by God for believers. The believers were given the opportunity to help one another as members of the temple. Let's read verse 21.

 

(고전 3:21) 그런즉 누구든지 사람을 자랑하지 말라 만물이 다 너희 것임이라

(1 Corinthians) So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours,

(고전 3:22) 바울이나 아볼로나 게바나 세계나 생명이나 사망이나 지금 것이나 장래 것이나 다 너희의 것이요

(1 Corinthians) whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,

 

바울은 성도의 정체성을 분명하게 설명합니다. 교회의 회원은 그리스도의 것입니다. 그리고 그리스도는 하나님의 것입니다. 23절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul clearly explains the identity of the church memebers. Members of the Church belong to Christ. And Christ is of God. Let's read verse 23.

 

(고전 3:23) 너희는 그리스도의 것이요 그리스도는 하나님의 것이니라

(1 Corintians 3:23) and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

 

성령님이 운행하시는 교회는 오직 예수님만을 바라봅니다. 그 어떤 지도자도 교회의 머리가 되어서는 안 됩니다. 우리 눈에 보이지는 않지만 주 예수 그리스도는 살아계시며, 교회의 머리이시기 때문입니다.

 

The church in which the Holy Spirit operates looks only to Jesus. No leader should be the head of the Church. Because the Lord Jesus Christ, though invisible to our eyes, lives and is the head of the Church.

 

성은교회와 부룬디의 교회들이 오직 예수님만 바라보기를 소망합니다. 교회 안에서 어떤 지도자도 머리가 되어서는 안 됩니다. 예수님 외에는 모두가 다 하나님의 성전의 지체입니다. 하나님의 성전으로 하나님의 성전의 머리이신 주 예수님을 따라가기를 축복합니다.

 

It is my hope that Holy Grace Church and churches in Burundi will look to Jesus alone. No leader in the Church should be the head. All but Jesus are members of the temple of God. I bless you to follow the Lord Jesus, the head of the temple of God, into the temple of God.

 

하나님 아버지, 교회에 분열이 없게 하소서. 교회에 분파가 없게 하소서. 사람을 따르지 않게 하소서. 오직 주님만을 따르고 주님께 순종하게 하소서. 그리하여 온전한 교회가 되어 세상을 변화시키게 하옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

 

Heavenly Father, may there be no division in the Church. May there be no sects in the Church. Forbid that they follow men. May they follow the Lord alone and obey Him. So that we may become a perfect Church and change the world. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
