1 사람이 마땅히 우리를 그리스도의 일꾼이요 하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자로 여길지어다 So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.

 

2 그리고 맡은 자들에게 구할 것은 충성이니라 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

 

 

1. 그리스도의 일꾼(고전 4:1앞)

 

바울은 자기 자신과 자신과 함께 복음을 전하는 사역자들을 “그리스도의 일꾼”이라고 규정합니다. “그리스도의 일꾼(종) (servants of Christ)”이라고 표현한 것은 두 가지 의미가 있습니다. 첫째는 자신들은 예수 그리스도를 주님으로 섬기며 충성하는 종이라는 것입니다.

 

Paul defines himself and ministers who preach the gospel with him as "servants of Christ." The expression "servants of Christ" has two meanings. The first is that they are faithful servants who serve Jesus Christ as Lord.

 

형제자매 여러분, 여러분 모두 예수 그리스도를 주님으로 모시고 그리스도의 종으로 살아가기 바랍니다. 예수 그리스도는 우주만물을 통치하는 주님이십니다. 주님의 종으로 살 때에 주님의 돌보심이 함께 하기 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, serve Jesus Christ as Lord, and live as servants of Christ. Jesus is the Lord over all things in the universe. May the Lord take care of you as you live as a servant of the Lord.

 

“그리스도의 종”의 두 번째 의미는 자신들은 그리스도를 주님으로 섬기기에 다른 어떤 사람의 종이 될 필요가 없습니다. 다른 사람의 평가나 비난을 받지 않습니다. 다른 사람이 무어라고 비난하고 평가해도 별 상관이 없습니다.

 

The second meaning of "servant of Christ" is that they do not have to be servants of anyone else to serve Christ as Lord. We are not subject to the evaluation or criticism of others. It doesn't matter what the other person accuses and evaluates.

 

형제자매 여러분, 예수님께서 우리의 주님 되심을 선포합니다. 주님이 우리와 함께 하시고 우리를 도와주시고 보호해 주십니다. 그 누구도 우리를 주님의 손에서 빼앗지 못할 것입니다. 누군가 여러분을 비난할 때에, 위축되지 마십시오. 염려하지 마십시오. 그들이 여러분의 주인이 아니기 때문입니다. 우리의 주인은 천지를 창조하신 하나님의 아들 주 예수 그리스도이십니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, I declare that Jesus Christ is our Lord. The Lord is with us and helps and protects us. No one will take us out of the Lord's hands. If someone blames you, don't shrink. Don't worry. Because they are not your masters. They cannot do anything to you. Our Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created the heavens and the earth.

 

 

2. 하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자(고전 4:1후)

 

바울은 자기 자신을 “그리스도의 종”으로 말하면서, 이와 더불어 “하나님의 비밀들을 맡은 자”라고 규정합니다. 여기서 “하나님의 비밀들”은 무엇일까요?

Paul refers to himself as "servants of Christ," and in addition to this he defines himself as "those who are entrusted with the mysteries of God." or "with the secret of God." What are the "mysteries or secrets of God" here?

 

여기서 “비밀들”이란 말은 헬라어로 “뮈스테리온(μυστήριον)”입니다. 이 단어는 비밀, 성례전, 비밀스러운 가르침 혹은 교리 등으로 번역됩니다. 숨겨져 있는 것인데 하나님이 계시를 통해 밝히 알게 하신 것을 뜻합니다.

 

The word "secrets" here is the Greek word for "müsterion (μυστήριον)". The word is translated as secret, sacrament, secret teaching, or doctrine. "Müsterion" means something hidden or secret. But this secret thing is revealed through God's revelation.

 

인간은 하나님이 하시는 일을 알 수 없습니다. 그래서 하나님이 하시는 모든 것은 숨겨져 있는 비밀 곧 “뮈스테리온”입니다. 그런데 하나님의 비밀 중에 최고의 비밀이 무엇일까요? 바로 예수님입니다. 하늘에 계시다가 육신의 몸을 입고 이 세상에 오셔서 십자가에서 죽임을 당하시고 부활 승천하신 예수님. 하늘의 하나님의 보좌 옆에 계시다가 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하시러 오시는 주님. 이것은 인간 스스로 알 수 없는 하나님나라의 최고의 비밀입니다. 하나님은 예수님을 비밀로 하셨다가 세상에 드러내셨습니다.

 

Man cannot know what God is doing. So all that God does is a hidden secret, the "Müsterion." But what is the most important of God's secrets? It is Jesus. Jesus, who was in heaven, came to this world in a physical body, was slain on the cross, and ascended to the resurrection. The Lord who is next to the throne of the God of heaven and comes to judge the living and the dead. This is the supreme secret of the kingdom of God that man cannot know for himself. God kept Jesus a secret for a long time. Then God revealed it to the world.

 

그러면 바울이 4:1뒷부분에서 증거하는 “하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자”는 구체적으로 누구를 가리키나요? 바로 “하나님의 비밀”이신 예수 그리스도를 영접하고 비밀 되시는 주님을 세상에 알리는 전도자를 의미합니다.

 

Who, then, specifically refers to the "one entrusted with the mysteries of God," which Paul testifies of later in 4:1? It means an evangelist who receives Jesus Christ, the "secret of God," and announces to the world the secret Lord.

 

우리에게 하나님의 비밀 되시는 예수 그리스도를 계시하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 저와 여러분에게 비밀 중에 비밀이신 예수 그리스도를 보여주신 하나님께 감사를 드립시다.

 

I praise God for revealing to us His Secret Jesus Christ. Thank God for showing me and you the secret Jesus Christ.

 

형제자매 여러분, 비밀이신 그분의 음성을 듣고, 비밀이신 그분의 손을 만져보십시오. 하나님의 비밀이신 예수 그리스도를 사랑하는 여러분이 되기를 바랍니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, listen to the voice of Jesus as a mystery and touch the hand of Jesus as a mystery. May you love Jesus Christ, the secret of God.

 

우리교회를 방문하고 있는 부룬디 목회자들은 “하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자들”입니다. 이분들은 하나님의 비밀이신 예수 그리스도를 만난 분들입니다. 그 비밀을 열방에 전파하라고 부르심을 받은 자들입니다. 하나님께서 이분들에게 복을 주셔서, 하나님의 비밀이신 주 예수 그리스도를 땅 끝에까지 증거하는 여러분이 되기를 바랍니다.

 

The Burundian pastors who visit our church are "those who are entrusted with the secrets of God." These are the people who have met Jesus Christ, the secret of God. They are called to spread the secret to the nations. May God bless them so that you may bear witness to the ends of the earth, the Lord Jesus Christ, the mystery of God.

 

어제 새벽기도회에서 저는 부룬디에서 온 24명의 목회자와 사모님들은 천사로 변해 있는 것을 보았습니다. 저는 어제 아침 7시가 넘어서 24명의 천사들이 5층 예배당 전체를 걸어 다니며 하나님께 기도하고 찬양하는 것을 보았습니다. 요한계시록에 나오는 24장로들처럼, 이분들이 예수 그리스도의 비밀을 가슴에 담고, 새벽에 성은교회를 축복하며 우리의 자녀들을 축복했습니다.

 

At the morning prayer meeting yesterday, I saw 24 pastors and aunts from Burundi turned into angels. Yesterday morning, just past 7 a.m., I saw 24 angels walking through the entire chapel on the fifth floor, praying and praising God. Like the 24 elders in the book of Revelation, they have the mystery of Jesus Christ in their hearts. At dawn, they who hold this secret, blessed our children and our church, Holy Grace Church.

 

 

3. 비밀을 맡은 자의 충성(고전 4:2)

 

바울은 하나님의 비밀을 받은 사람은 그들의 충성심을 주님께 보여야하다고 선포합니다. 2절을 읽겠습니다.

 

Paul declares that those who have received God's secrets must show the Lord their loyalty. Let's read verse 2.

 

 

(고전 4:2) 그리고 맡은 자들에게 구할 것은 충성이니라 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

 

형제자매 여러분, 하나님은 우리에게 하나님의 비밀이신 예수 그리스도를 선물로 주셨습니다. 이제 예수님의 이름으로 귀신을 몰아내고, 예수님의 이름으로 악의 영들을 척결하고, 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 병든 자를 위해 기도하게 되었습니다. 우리를 구원하시고 우리에게 성령의 은사를 주시는 주 예수 그리스도에게 충성하는 저와 여러분이 되기를 축복합니다.

 

Brothers and sisters, God has given us the gift of Jesus Christ, the secret of God. Now we have cast out demons and cast out the spirits of evil in the name of Jesus. We prayed for the sick in the name of Jesus Christ. I bless all of you to be loyal to the Lord Jesus Christ, who saves us and gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
